Baka City head coach, Kondwani Mwalweni, said that he was not happy with how match officials have handled their match against Blue Eagles and believes that they agreed to give the game to the Area 30 based side.

Mwalweni spoke this to the media after his team lost 0-3 to be knocked out of the FDH Bank Cup at the Karonga Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

He believes that the referee had a hand in the team's defeat as Eagles' second goal was a foul in their favour but still the referee awarded them.

"It was a tough game yes but I'm not impressed with how match officials have handled this game, I think they agreed to give the game to Blue Eagles already. The second goal for them was a foul but the referee awarded them and was the time our team was settling so we were disturbed." Said Mwalweni.

Schumacher Kuwali netted two goals while Paul Master added third to send Eagle into the semis of the tournament.

PASUWA SAYS BULLETS WILL ADD NEW PLAYERS

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Kalisto Pasuwa, said his team is expected to sign some new players from other teams to beef up his squad which is few due to injuries.

Pasuwa said this after his team recorded a 1-0 win over Civil Service United to seal their place into the Semi final of the FDH Bank Cup and said his main problem is injuries of the players so they need to add few faces.

"I am looking at the guys that I am having now and the problem I have been facing is injuries and now we have them returning back from injuries so we need to add someone may be on the attacking midfield from other teams whom he will also need to be taught." Said Pasuwa.

KAYIRA ASKS FOR GOD'S INTERVENTION ON BANDA, KANYENDA SADDENED

Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder, Chimango Kayira, has pleaded for God's intervention on his former teammate, Peter Banda, who is suffering from a shoulder injury for almost a year now.

Kayira wrote this message on his Facebook page after the news that Red Arrows will not continue to sign the 'Wonderboy' as his injury has taken so long and will not beat their deadline to use the star in the CAF Champions League.

Kayira believes that only God can save Banda's career from dwindling as he has lost many opportunities due to the injury.

The player was nominated alongside Saulos Moyo and Nanson Mbewe for the award from Bach Investment, Fort Hill Medical Stores and Chilindira and managed to get more votes.

Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Nigerian striker, Chinedu Okafor has joined Zambian topflight league side, Green Eagles.

Okafor was part of the Quadruple winning squad for the People's team in 2023 but was released after failing to impress the Kalisto Pasuwa led panel in his one year stay at the team.

Agad 24, Okafor is part of Eagles team in pre-season camp on the Copperbelt.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Kalitso Pasuwa, has warned his boys against complacency against Bangwe All Stars as he said it may lead to poor results after 90 minutes.

He said this ahead of the match at the Mpira Stadium on Wednesday afternoon and it is hard to motivate the boys as after a Derby win, they would think they can beat any team.

"Very very difficult to motivate these boys, you see most times is complacency after having that Derby we won and go to the next round then they see these other teams as if they are easy when we meet them but again we played Bangwe in our first round of this Cup we struggled first 45 minutes they were solid and I think we need to quickly put our mind in place and also have positive in whatever we do, we need to be together in order for us to collect these points when we play them." Said Pasuwa.

AIRTEL HIKES SPONSORSHIP FEE

Airtel Malawi has hiked the sponsorship fee put on Airtel Top tournament from K234 million to K655 million after confirming continuing sponsoring the tournament for another three years.

This has been disclosed by the company's Managing Director, Charles Kamoto, during a signing on ceremony with Football Association of Malawi at the Mpira house in Blantyre.

Pasuwa said this after his team knocked Mighty Mukuru Wanderers out of the tournament and said they need to work extra hard if they are to defend the title.

"No advantage at all if Silver Strikers can be booted out by Blue Eagles, it means us we can go out with any team we can play against so it needs us to be prepared well in order to go to the next round." Said Pasuwa

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwean tactician further said that the derby win can help the team to start winning games again as it will restore confidence in the boys.

MWASE DEFENDS HIS DECISION TO START KHUNGWA

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers interim coach, Meke Mwase, has defended his decision to start with low experienced goalkeeper, Dalitso Khungwa, saying he wanted the player to feel the heat of the Blantyre Derby.

Mwase said this after his team lost 2-1 to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to be knocked out of the 2024 FDH Bank Cup and said the goalkeeper could have done better in the goals but defended his decision to start him.

"We wanted him to feel the game as we trusted him because he was given two games [against Chitipa United and MAFCO] which he did not concede so we thought he would perform well so there was nothing wrong." Said Mwase.

Meanwhile, Khungwa was replaced at half time for experienced William Thole, who did not concede in the whole of second half.

This season, Wanderers has trusted all of its goalkeepers with Richard Chipuwa trusted in many of the games than Thole and Khungwa.
