SAMA WINS A TROPHY FOR WANDERERS
Super Substitute, Sama Thierry Tanjong, fulfilled his words when signing his two years contract at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers that he want to win trophies with the team by scoring a lone goal to win their first ever Castel Challenge Cup on Saturday.
The Cameroonian scored two minutes after his introduction and that goal was enough to win the game as the Nomads beat Mzuzu City Hammers 1-0 at the Bingu National Stadium in the final.
Head coach for the team, Bob Mpinganjira, said he was very happy to win the tournament as the team now has something to point on this season.
He said: "I'm very happy with the boys with how they performed. It was a very tough match but we have now something to give it to the club and also to our President, Mr Thomson Mpinganjira so I'm happy." Said Mpinganjira.
Meanwhile, the Nomads have claimed a trophy and a prize money of K55 million for finishing first in the tournament and ending a trophy drought at the team.
