Mlimbika stars on Buffaloes' debut

Scorchers winger, Sarah Mlimbika, provided an assist on her first game for Green Buffaloes as she played for the whole 90 minutes in their 5-0 win over Elite Ladies in the Eden University Super League on Saturday.

Mlimbika was handed a start days after completing her move to the team and assisted Natasha Nanyangwe, who went on to score a hat-trick while Maylan Mulenga and Diana Banda netted the other goals.

She was impressive in the game as her crosses caused havoc in the opposition box and nearly scored from a direct free kick.

Mlimbika has been signed from Kukoma Ntopwa Queens and has penned a two year contract with the league leaders.

‎Mitundu Baptist FC produced a moment of magic after beating Silver Strikers 1-0 at the Dedza Stadium to book a place in the Central Region 8 Elite Teams Easter Bonanza on Friday.

‎Rashid Daah scored the lone goal in the 13th minute of the game to secure a big win for the elite league rookies.

The team's head coach, Oscar Kaunda, hailed his boys' performance that won them the game.

‎“Silver gave us a good game. We have won, but they played well today. I need to praise my boys for a spirited performance. We scored and managed to defend until the final whistle,” he said.

He also hailed his youthful squad saying it is delivering well on the pitch and the game against the Bankers gave them strong effort ahead of the League campaign.

The team will face Goshen Dedza Dynamos, who defeated MAFCO 3-1 on post-match penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, in the semi finals.

Tabitha Chawinga was included in the UEFA Women's Champions League following her impressive performance as OL Lyoness beat Wolfsburg 4-1 on aggregate.

Chawinga netted the last goal to secure their progress into the semi finals of the tournament.

Mighty Wanderers has confirmed that they will not renew the contract of Panganeni Ndovi who served as the team's Chief Executive Officer for the past two years.

This has been known in a press statement released by the team through their Facebook page on Friday.

The Nomads have wished Ndovi well as he leaves the club and has informed all stakeholders that they are working hard to have an interim in the position.

Ndovi was known with the Making Wanderers mighty again slogan as under his administration, the Nomads have won the TNM Super League and the Castel Challenge Cup.

Chitipa United FC has announced the signature of striker, Patrick Olamba Ngese, who has penned a two-year deal from Navitengo FC.

Ngese was identified by the technical panel following an impressive performance during a recent friendly match between the two sides.
