Gwengwe scores in Poole City comeback win

Malawian England based forward, scored his 36th goal of the season as Poole Town claimed a comeback 2-1 win over Taunton in the Southern League Premier South in England on Saturday.

The team were trailing at half time after Dylan Jones stroke for the visitors but Gwengwe levelled two minutes into the second half before Selim Saied netting the winner in the 53rd minute.

The goal means Gwengwe extended his lead in the golden boot race as he has three above Ryan Seager of Havant & W who has 33 goals to his name.

Meanwhile, the team is placed third in the League with 65 points from 34 games in the League

Paipi, Nyasulu keep cleansheets in Zimbabwe

After having a tough debut in the Zimbabwean league, Maxwell Paipi has kept his first cleansheet after helping FC Platinum to secure a 2-0 win over Manica Diamonds in Zimbabwe.

Paipi was handed a start once again as he partnered with Nickson Nyasulu and both were solid at the back for team to grab their first win of the season.

Precious Phiri was not available for the victors while Mark Fodya was an unused substitute for the visitors in their second defeat of the season.

FC Platinum are now 6th on the table with three points from one win and one defeat while Manica Diamonds are 17th with no point from two straight defeats in the League.

Kaonga stars as Caps go top

Flames forward, Chawanangwa Kaonga, played full minutes to inspire Caps United to a 1-0 win over Herentals and top the standings in Zimbabwe.

Kaonga was handed a start for the second time this season and impressed for the team while his compatriot, Lloyd Njaliwa, was introduced on the hour-mark for the leaders.

Caps, who also have Joseph Kamwendo as their second assistant coach, has 6 points from two wins in the League.

Thole, Chaziya keep second cleansheets in Zimbabwe

Malawian international goalkeeper, William Thole, and defender Lawrence Chaziya kept cleansheets for the second time in two games as Simba Bhora played a goalless draw against FC Hunters in the Castle Lager Premier League in Zimbabwe on Saturday.

The duo were trusted to have their place in the starting team and delivered an impressive performance to prevent the visitors from getting a goal.

Thole won the goalkeeper of the year last season after keeping most cleansheets in the League and looks to reclaim the honour while Chaziya eyes to revive his career after the recent snub at Flames and Mighty Wanderers before heading to Zimbabwe.

Simba Bhora are fourth in the League with 4 points from one win and one draw in the League.

Mphasi Out with Head Injury

Flames attacker Chifundo Mphasi will not be part of Power Dynamos' action for a few weeks as he nurses a head injury sustained when the leaders beat MUZA FC 4-2 in the MTN Super League.

The Aba Yellow have confirmed the development following a report from their medical team, which says he's recovering well.

Mphasi suffered a deep scalp laceration following a heavy challenge. Team doctor Dr. Womba Kadochi has revealed that the player experienced significant blood loss and received immediate treatment.

He then underwent a successful surgical procedure to clean and stitch the wound.

The former Shamuel Academy star has been an important player for the team since joining in 2025, helping them win the league.

Power Dynamos currently hold a five-point lead with a game in hand in a bid to defend the title.
