"I DON'T BELIEVE IN RECYCLED PLAYERS" - KAUNDA

Mitundu Baptist head coach, Oscar Kaunda, said he is happy with his squad as he loves developing young stars than relying on recycled players.

He said this as the team face Silver Strikers in the Central Region Easter Bonanza at the Dedza Stadium on Friday in preparation for their first season in the FDH Premiership.

Kaunda said the players are responding well to instructions and are eager to compete in the top flight league.

‎“I’m happy with the squad I have assembled so far. I prefer developing young players rather than relying on recycled ones. My goal is to groom talent and build strong players for the future. I’m satisfied with the balance in the squad, and I believe we can achieve great things,”⁣ he said.

He has since warned teams not to underrate their team as they look to finish into the top five of the League.

The team earned promotion after finishing second in the NBS Bank National Division League last season.

Lawrence Chaziya and William Thole were both starters as Simba Bhora played a goalless draw against Bulawayo Chiefs FC in the Castle Lager Premier League on Thursday.

Despite the team failing to pick maximum points in several games this season after winning two games and drawing three, they are yet to concede this season.

Last season, Thole claimed most cleansheets in the League to win the best goalkeeper of the season and he has five in five games this season already.

Chirwa stars as Ngezi Platinum end Caps United's perfect run

Flames full back, Gomegzani Chirwa, produced an outstanding performance for Ngezi Platinum Stars on his return from a frustrating international break after providing an assist to inspire them to a 1-0 win over Caps United.

The team faced the leaders who had picked four wins in four games but managed to stop them thanks to Chirwa's great ball to Karengesha who netted the lone goal.

He was replaced in the 55th minute as he was also in action for Flames on Tuesday in their 1-0 defeat against Botswana.

Meanwhile, Chawanangwa Kaonga and Lloyd Njaliwa were rested for Caps United as they were also with the National team.

Ngezi are now fourth with 11 points from three wins and two draws while Caps United remain top with 12 points from four wins and one defeat in the Castle Lager Premier League in Zimbabwe.

Binwell Katinji was in the starting team as Chicken Inn FC played a goalless draw against Manica Diamonds in the Castle Lager Premier League on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Mark Fodya was an unused substitute for Manica Diamonds as they got their first point of the season.

Chicken Inn are 9th in the League with 6 points from one win, three draws and one defeat while Manica Diamonds remain bottom with just one point from one draw and four defeats.

Stanley Billiat was introduced in the 62nd minute and helped Dynamos FC secure their third win of the season in a 1-0 win over MWOS FC in Zimbabwe on Thursday.

Billiat came in when the game was goalless and brought an impact as the team pushed more forward, earning a penalty which they converted in the 70th minute.

The team sits third in the League with 11 points from three wins and two draws in the League, a point behind leaders Caps United.
