Mwalilino: "I didn't expect to sign for a big team like Silver"

Silver Strikers Ladies has beefed up their squad ahead of the second round of the National Bank of Malawi National Womens Premiership by roping in Angella Mwalilino from MK Academy in an undisclosed fee.

The team made the announcement on Friday after completing the move and has penned a three-year deal with the Bankers.

Mwalilino expressed her happiness after completing the move from the relegation-threatened side to the league leaders by saying she is ready to shine in the team.

"When the coaches told me that Silver wants me i did not believe it, i was afraid because i never expected to join a big team like this one. The team is already doing well so i need to step up and help the team achieve more," said Mwalilino.

The player plays as a right winger and has managed to score two goals in the elite league which she did it against Kukoma Ntopwa Queens and Moyale Sisters.

"Dedza are tough at home but we're ready" - Mgangira

Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mgangira, said his team will face a tough side that plays well at their home ground but his players are much ready to fight for a win.

He said this on Tuesday ahead of their match against Goshen City Dedza Dynamos at the Dedza Stadium and believes that his team will do better in the fixture.

"Every team that faces Silver Strikers is tough as the players want to proof a point because they want to play for the team one day but we are used and we just need to fight hard so that we atleast get a win," said Mgangira.

The Bankers return to league action after being knocked out of the CAF Champions League and are third in the League with 39 points from 19 games in the League.
