"YOU CAN'T LEAVE THE GAME TO GO INTO PENALTIES" - PASUWA
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Kalitso Pasuwa, says that his team failed to utilize their chances in the first half which could have helped them win the game as penalties are for every team.
He said this after an FDH Bank Cup final defeat over Blue Eagles 3-2 on penalties after a goalless 90 minutes at Bingu National Stadium and said cup games are always difficult.
He said: "I thought in the first half also we could have used our chances that we got and you cant leave the game to go into penalties so penalties is for anyone to get it and unfortunately we were on the other end, well done to opposition Blue Eagles, they did well and they are the holders of the trophy."
He further said his team will switch their attention to the TNM Super League and other Cup remaining and they need to remain focused so that they continue doing better.
In the game, only Gomegzani Chirwa and Nickson Nyasulu scored their penalty kick while Pr

POOR OFFICIATION CLAIMS CONTINUE IN CHITOWE
Moyale Barracks has become the latest team in the TNM Super League to speak again unfair officiation at the Chitowe Stadium where MAFCO FC uses as their home after several teams made similar claims before.
The team's head coach, Prichard Mwansa, after a 1-1 draw against MAFCO which Godfrey Nkhakananga was the referee and said this is not good for our Football in the country.
"We should also be worried of the officiation today, it was not good and we have talking about this for several times, this is not good at all." Said Mwansa.
He further said that his team missed a lot of good chances including a penalty miss which made them fail to record a win but an away point is valuable to them.
The team stays 7th on the table with 27 points from 19 games they have played in the 2024 TNM Super League season.
HAMMERS COACH SUSPECTS 'SOMETHING' BEHIND TEAM'S HARD LUCK
Mzuzu City Hammers head coach, Kondwa Ikwanga says he is failing to understand what is going on with his team as they manage to play well, create chances but fail to convert them into goals.
He said this after the team's 3-0 defeat over Civil Service United at the Civo Stadium and said there is something that went wrong to what they planned for the game and he does not understand how his team is missing chances mostly.
"I don't understand what is going on and I'm failing even to explain it, the boys are playing well but I don't know this hard luck, we are creating chances but failing t score. If we started like the way we finished I tell you Civil was nowhere in this game." Said Ikwanga.
The team remains third on the standing with 31 points from 19 games they have played this season.
CIVIL THUMPS HAMMERS
Civil Service United has moved three steps up to 6th on the log table as they revenged their 1-0 defeat over Mzuzu City Hammers in the first round with a 3-0 victory at the Civo Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Muhammad Biason assisted China Chirwa for the opener before adding second before half time and substitute Righteous Banda added third to seal the big win at home.
Coach for the team, Abbas Makawa, said he was happy to have collected the three points and thanked his boys for the job well done.
"It was not an easy match but I should thank the boys for taking what we discussed during training and apply them in the game, we struggled in some parts yes but what is much more important is the three points." Said Makawa.
Before the match, the Civil Servants were on position 9 but now they are 6th with 27 points from 19 games played.
CRECK MISS THIRD POSITION
Creck Sporting Club blew away a chance to move up to third in the TNM Super League log table after suffering a 1-0 defeat in hands of Mighty Tigers in a match played at the Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
The rookies were looking for a league double over the Kaukau boys having won in the first round 3-1 at home but a Martin Msewa's 9th minute penalty strike sealed the win for the orange and black team.
The team's interim coach, Joseph Kamwendo, said his team tried to come back into the game in the second half but they missed a lot of chances which meant it was not their day.
"It was a difficult match, we conceded in the first half where we didn't play well and in the second half, we tried to change and towards the end we played well but we failed to score so I was not our day." Said Kamwendo.
The team had former Mighty Mukuru Wanderers players, Vincent Nyangulu and Muhammad Sulumba making debuts in the second half but could not rescue a point.
TIGERS RUN AWAY OF RELEGATION ZONE
Mighty Tigers has opened a five point gap above the relegation zone after putting an impressive performance to stun fourth placed Creck Sporting Club 1-0 in a match played at the Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Kaukau boys had to revenge their first 3-1 defeat in Lilongwe when Martin Msewa scored from the spot on the 9th minute after Hadji Wali handled the ball into the box to seal the much needed victory.
Coach Leo Mpulula said the win was vital as they were placed on a dangerous position in the League.
"Let me praise the boys for the win, they tried hard and surely we got it. We were coming from a loss against Silver Strikers and looking at where we were, a win is a very good result so we sticked to our plan that we should score early then display our Football." Said Mpulula.
He further said his team is facing a lot of problems in terms of scoring and that if there was no penalty, they could have struggled to win.
