Extreme down Zitha in NDL opener

NBS Bank National Division League rookies, Extreme FC, got off to a flying start after beating Namitete Zitha 1-0 in a league opening match played at the Owen Malijani Stadium in Mchinji on Sunday.

The team's prolific forward, Beston Jimu, netted a sensational goal to secure a well deserved win for the newcomers who dominated the game in front of a packed stadium.

Head coach for the team, Dan Dzimkambani, hailed his players for their brilliant performance despite being a tough match.

"We want to be picking more points this season, we know we will be facing these kind of tough oppositions but we need to be strong enough in order to fight for a good position and even position one at the end of the season," he said.

On the other side, Namitete Zitha head coach Kenwood Nkhoma said his team lacked aggressiveness into the first half but the defeat have given them a room to note more mistake left to become a complete side.

CHIPOLOPOLO RETIRES AFTER 9 SEASONS

Extreme Football Club midfielder Mabvuto Vwa Msowoya Chipolopolo hang boots after almost nine (9) seasons playing in the Malawi's elite league.

Chipolopolo played for Mighty Tigers, TN Stars FC, EPAC FC and he is retiring after playing one season with a relegated Mchinji based outfit, Extreme FC.
