REPORTS: WANDERERS FORGAVE BUTAO

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers are ready to welcome back Mike Butao at the club to replace the out going acting Chief Executive officer, Roosevelt Mpinganjira, in 2024 season.

A source from inside has confirmed to us that Butao has been a long mentioned name to be part of the team as they look to restore the lost glory. After asked about the money laundering charges on him, we were told he is free.

"Butao has been a favorite to come back, Mpinganjira has just left a void for him to fill. About the money laundering charges, he was forgiven by the team." Said the Source.

Butao was part of the team that won the league in 2017 and the team has also called back Steve Madeira to be part of the team.

The team has parted ways with Mpinganjira today, eight months after working with the Nomads.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has today presented the first kit to club legends ahead of the Blantyre derby against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC legends at Kamuzu Stadium on 4 March.

The two teams will face in a bid to find funds for their Association that will look at the welfare of the legends of both teams.

MPONDA INCLUDE ZICCO MKANDA IN SILVER'S PANEL

Silver Strikers head coach has announce the inclusion of his former Striker at FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Zicco Mkanda, to be the team's strikers in the coming 2024 season.

Mjojo said this on Friday as he unceiled his backroom staff for the coming season and believes Mkanda will help him a lot.

"The reason for bringing Mkanda, he has been one of the finest strikers in this years and with his experience he will help the youngsters, I think the players also have seen him playing so they will learn from him." Said Mponda.

"I CANT COACH LOCAL CLUBS" - KINNAH

Former Flames coach, Kinnah Phiri, says he can return to coaching now after the change of leadership at Football Association of Malawi but can only go for national team and foreign clubs.

Phiri said he announced that he will never coach in Malawi after his disrespectful dismissal as a Flames coach in 2012 but he has now left the decision but now wants big things only.

"I said will not coach in Malawi again but now I withdrew those words because if the changes at FAM, I am open to coach but only at National team not local clubs because the job I'm having now is huge, only if they want mentorship I am open." Said Phiri.

The coach is currently working as a deputy director of sports at the ministry of Sports. He was the second ever Coach to take Malawi to the African Cup of Nations in 2010.

LWEMBA TO WANDERERS IS A FAILED DEAL

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers might fail to sign one of their targets this summer, Chitipa United's defender, Chris Lwemba as an insider has labelled it as they are 'not serious.'

The insider told us that the Nomads offered Lwemba a contract of a huge period but little money and a little salary of which the player is not interested as he believes he is a 'big player.'

Meanwhile, Chitipa United's officials have advised the captain not to move to the Nomads as the money being offered can not take him anywhere because its just very little.

The source further said the player is said not shaken by a move away from Chitipa and that he will play until his contract ends in December this year.

BANDA SCORES AS UD SONDO BEAT SUPERSPORT

Flames captain, Christopher John Banda, scored the fourth goal of UD Songo as they beat Supersport United 2-4 in a friendly on Thursday morning.

This is their second pre-season friendly in South Africa after they drew 1-1 with Polokwane City on Monday.

Civo United captain and left back, Timothy Silwimba, has left the team as he is on verge of joining Mighty Mukuru Wanderers ahead of the upcoming season.

Reports suggests that the defender has already said goodbye to his teammates and that any day, he will be announced by the Nomads.

The team has been in search of a left back after using Isaac Kaliati and Wisdom Mpinganjira on the position.

Meanwhile, the team is also set to announce the signing of Chris Lwemba any day next week.

TWO BULLETS NOMINATED FOR PLAYER OF THE SEASON AWARD

Airtel Top 8 Champions, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, has its two strikers, Lanjesi Nkhoma and Maxwell Gasten Phodo been nominated for the player of the tournament alongside Christopher Mikuwa of MAFCO.

This has been disclosed by the Football Association of Malawi on Wednesday saying different coaches were the ones who did the nominations.

Meanwhile, Lanjesi Nkhoma was the golden boot winner with three goals, of which two won the cup in the final.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets had to beat MAFCO 2-1 in the final to win the tournament for the second time.

FC Bayern Munich have announced that they will part ways with head coach Thomas Tuchel in the summer.
