Baka City secure NDL promotion to return into Elite League

Baka City has become the second team to secure promotion into the Super League from the NBS Bank National Division League after beating Ndirande Stars 2-0 at the Karonga Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The Clever Boys went into the match knowing that a win would seal their promotion into the Elite League and goals from Joseph Mwambungu in the 38th minute and Hastings Ndau in the second minute of the first half secured the victory.

The team has now opened a 7-point gap over fourth placed Namitete Zitha meaning their job is just to secure the runners up place as Red Lions also emerged as the champions of the League.

Head coach for the team, Victor Mwakhwawa, was happy with the win and thanked his boys for their efforts put to secure the promotion.

''I am happy that we have win this game, we started on a low note because the boys had pressure for it was an important game but i have to thank them for their brilliant performanc

Mighty Wanderers forward, Sama Thierry Tanjong, has described his second season at the team as a hard one but it is good that the Nomads arr chasing for thr title.

He said this in an interview with Twaha Chimuka and said individually, it has been a bad one following a long injury that kept him out for whole first round and part of the second round.

''I would say individually it has bed hard you know [i stayed] 6 months without football due to injury but it sounds good to be back and help the team,'' said Sama.

He also said the team remain focused in their final matches as they have agreed to fight for the league which looks to be on their favour now.

The Cameroonian has been in top form for the past two goals after being criticized by the team's fans as he has provided them with brilliance up front.

He joined the team last year and helped the team win the Castel Challenge Cup.

Ndirande Stars stranded after chased at Karonga Stadium

Ndirande Stars has been left panicking to find a place to train in Karonga after being denied to use the Karonga Stadium ahead of their match against Baka City on Wednesday.

The team arrived at the facility to fulfill their training at the venue of their match a day before the game but fans appeared at the facility and told Ndirande Stars to leave.

The team is currently looking for an alternative pitch which they can use to prepare for their match.

The game is a crucial one for Baka as they need a win to secure the promotion into the Elite League and the tactics could be employed to frustrate Ndirande Stars who are coming from a healthy 2-5 win against Chilumba Barracks in Chitipa.

There has been related reports from the facility mostly in the Elite League and this is the first of kind in the NBS Bank National Division League.
