"BULLETS DIDN'T DESERVE TO WIN" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, says FCB Nyasa Big Bullets were just lucky to win the Airtel Top 8 final as it was his side that dominated the play in the game and deserved to lift the trophy.
He said this after the match which they lost 0-1 at the Bingu National Stadium on Saturday afternoon and believes FCB Nyasa Big Bullets did nothing that has made them to win the game.
"It's a painful defeat we did everything we analysed them we neutralised their strength, I don't think that Bullets did anything to deserve to win this game and sometimes in football you need lucky to win and that's what has happened to Bullets today." Said Mponda.
This could have been the team's first trophy under Mponda and their possible trophy to lift this season is the TNM Super League which Mighty Mukuru Wanderers is trying to challenge them.
Mponda explains how to beat Bullets
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, says his team needs to find a way to break FCB Nyasa Big Bullets' defense as they seem to have solid defense but still they are weak in the attack.
He said this ahead of their Airtel Top 8 final against the People's team on Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium and said looking at how these teams have scored and conceded goals in the tournament, he has to use that in order to win the game.
"We have scored 7 and conceded two whereas our friends have scored four they haven't conceded , we need to fight a way to unlock their defense it looks like they are tight at the back, they are not attacking much that's why they haven't scored goals." Said Mponda.
The Bankers will be looking for their first trophy with Peter Mponda as their head coach and will have to beat the defending Champions in the final.
The Bankers had to beat Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 1-0 to book a place in the final whereas FCB Nyasa Big Bullet
MPONDA HAPPY WITH SILVER'S STATE
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, says he is very happy with how his team is so far as they have performed very well despite that it was a new team under a new coach but the players adapted well to the way they play.
Mponda spoke this ahead of their match against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the Airtel Top 8 finals at the Bingu National Stadium on Saturday afternoon where he sees many good reasons to win the trophy.
"It's a mixed feeling there's is a little bit of pressure that we have to win this fight but also it is a good team because it was a new squad, a new coach, the guys adapted to the way we played and I'm happy with the way we are." Said Mponda.
He further applauded the hard work of the players that has seen them placed on where they are now, in the League where they are top and in the final of the Airtel Top 8.
"The guys have worked hard to be where they are at this point of the season. If you look at the League, we haven't lost any
game and we worked so hard in the Airtel from Quarter finals, Semi final reaching into the final." Added Mponda.
Ahead of the big fixture where he is facing is boyhood side, he said his team is very ready but will have to work very hard in order to win the trophy which he believes it is a reward for the team's hard work this season.
The Bankers had to beat Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the semi finals last week 1-0 to book their place in the final and they will be up for a revenge as last year, they were beaten on penalties by the People's team in the final.
MWASE, NYONI MISS AIRTEL TOP 8 FINAL
Silver Strikers will not have it two players, Nickson Mwase and Duncan Nyoni, as they miss the match due to suspension and an injury respectively.
The team has confirmed about the absence of the two players through it's website ahead of the big match against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium.
Mwase picked two yellow cards in the team's 1-0 win over Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the semi final of the tournament last week while Duncan Nyoni picked a muscle injury when the team played Panthers FC in the Castel Challenge Cup where he scored two goals to force the game into penalties.
Nyoni joins Tatenda M'balaka in the team's injury list.

"WE HAVE A GOOD SQUAD THAN BULLETS" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda says his team has a very good squad compared to that of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets but they need to work extra hard in order to win the Airtel Top 8 this season.
The former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets deputy coach said this ahead of the Airtel Top 8 final at the Bingu National Stadium on Saturday against his former team and said his team is very ready to eclipse the results of the last season when they lost in the final.
He however saluted his team for working hard this season in their matches and believes winning the trophy could be a reward to the team.
"We have seen how they are playing I think we have a very good squad compared to them [Bullets]. It is up to the boys to start believing the guys have worked hard to be where they are at this point of the season." Said Mponda.
The Bankers managed to beat Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 1-0 in the semi final last week to reach the final last week and will have to f

"THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU UNDERRATE OPPONENTS" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda has described their exit in the Castel Challenge Cup round of 32 stage as painful but it is as a result of underrating a team they were facing.
He said this after suffering a 3-4 defeat in post match penalties following a 2-2 draw in the 90 minutes and Mponda said his players failed to perform better as they usually do.
"It's a painful result yes and I'm not pleased with the performance and also the result, that what happens when you underrate your opponents, we are now out of the Castel Challenge Cup, we move on." Said Mponda.
He further said that he tried to rest some of his players because they are tired after playing last Saturday and have also a tough assignment on Saturday.
The Bankers were also knocked out of the FDH Bank Cup two months ago in a similar fashion when Blue Eagles stunned them in post match penalties.

"I'M HAPPY WITH THE RESULT NOT PERFORMANCE" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach said he was happy after seeing his team return to winning ways in the TNM Super League but was not pleased with their performance only that they agreed to force a win in Mzuzu.
He said this after the team's 0-2 win over Mzuzu City Hammers at the Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon and thanked his boys for the win.
"I'm happy with the result but not with the performance, it was not that good today but after the draws we agreed that we should force a win and in the first half we created few chances which we missed and in the second half we created many and got the goals." Said Mponda.
He further said that at least things are working on their side as they are remaining with 6 games leading with 7 points on the log table.

"WE ARE IN CONTROL" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, says his team is not looking at other teams who are coming behind them as what he knows now is that they are in control of the League.
He said this after being held to a goalless draw against Bangwe All Stars at the Balaka Stadium to drop two points giving an advantage to second placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers to cut their gap to five points.
The former Flames captain said what he knows is that they are in control of the League and they are focusing on the game.
"We are not at teams that are behind us, we are just focusing on our games, we should take points and move on, what I just is that we are in control." Said Mponda.
The next assignment for the Bankers was to travel to Aubrey Dimba Stadium and play Creck Sporting Club but has been postponed due to Flames' early trip to Senegal.
The Bankers remain top of the standings with 49 points from 21 games this season, five above the Nomads who are on 44 points.
"I DONT THINK THAT POINT WILL HELP THEM" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, says his team failed to score because they were playing against a defensive team that came not to win the game and the point gotten on top of them will not help them.
He said this after the team's 0-0 draw against Bangwe All Stars at the Balaka Stadium where he said it is a frustrating draw but they will pick a point which will help them in their race for the League.
"It was a frustrating draw, we were playing a team that was more defensive and did not come to win, we are fighting for the Championship and we deserved to win but we will take the point to our home, they [Bangwe] are very happy but I don't think that point will help them." Said Mponda.
He said his team is not focusing on the team that is coming behind them but what they see is that they are top of the League.
The Bankers are placed on first position with 49 points from 21 games in the League, five points ahead of Wanderers.
"DEDZA CAN ALSO SCORE FOUR" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, says his team needs to treat their second leg of the Airtel Top 8 match with Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos with conscious for if they managed to score four in the first leg, Dedza can also score the same goals.
He said this ahead of their match at the Dedza Stadium on Sunday where the team goes with a 4-1 lead on aggregate but said his team needs to have an attacking mind in order to do well in the match.
"The first 45 minutes of the game went in Lilongwe and we are going for the second 45 minutes in Dedza we need to be conscious with our friends as we scored four goals and they can also score four." Said Mponda.
He said the ideal solution to claim an easy win is to apply more through attacks from the first whistle but said a 4-1 margin was a good one to go with in the second leg.
The winner of the match will progress into the next round of the competition as they will face the winner between Bangwe All the
