Mponda: I was worried when Babatunde was about to leave
FCB Nyasa Big Bullet head coach, Peter Mponda, says he was worried after the expiring of star forward, Babatunde Adepoju, but his stay is a very good news to the team.
He said this after the player extended his loan deal from Venda Football Club to stay at the team until December on Tuesday afternoon.
He said Babatunde is an important player to Bullets and his contract extension has ended his worry ahead of the 2025 season.
"He is a very good players, his work rate at the team has contributed a lot so he is a good signing." Said Mponda.
The Nigerian international joined the People's team from Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in 2022 before winning the Airtel Top 8 and TNM Super League golden boots but struggled in South Africa with Venda.
He played on loan at the team in 2024 where he was the team's winning factor under Kalisto Pasuwa as he scored over 15 goals in all competitions.
Babatunde: Bullets made me who i am today
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets forward, Babatunde Adepoju, says teams came to look for his services after the end of his loan deal at the team but the People's team will always be his priority as it gave him everything as a player.
He said this after signing a loan deal extension at the team on Tuesday to confirm his stay at the team.
He said his parent team, Venda Football Club, wanted him to return to the club but because Bullets still wanted him, he is always available for the team.
"I had a bad season but Bullets took me and revived everything, i got back my scoring boots so like i said, the team made me where i am today and i will always be available if they need me anytime." He said.
He further said that the team will try to work together more especially the senior players so that they return their glory and start winning more trophies yet again.

Match fixing free season excites CRFA
The Central Region Football Association says they believe the Chipiku Stores Premier Division League champions, Blue Eagles, will win the TNM Super League next season after finishing unbeaten to set a new record for the team.
The Association's General Secretary, Antonio Manda said this when Eagles were playing their final match of the season where they beat Panthers 1-0 thanks to Chikondi Mvula's lone goal.
Manda congratulated Eagles for finishing unbeaten and was happy to produce a champion without match fixing claims which is an achievement to their committee.
"Others had doubts but we have managed to deliver, finishing the League without match fixing claims and without any team missing a match so we are very happy." He said.
He further said Eagles finishing unbeaten in the League has never happen before and the fact that Eagles also won the FDH Bank Cup, they believe they have sent a rightful owner and that they will win the Super League.
INVICIBLES: Eagles finish Chipiku League unbeaten
Blue Eagles has returned in the TNM Super League in style after finishing the whole season unbeaten to set a new record the League.
The team set the record after beating Panthers FC 1-0 on their final match of the season with Chikondi Masamba scoring the lone goal of the match.
Out of 22 matches, Eagles managed to claim 19 wins and three draws, scoring 52 and conceding 11 goals to claim a massive 60 points in the League.
Head coach for the team, Eliya Kananji, says the team has no time to rest as they start fixing things to avoid another shock relegation in the League.
He said, "Hopefully we will bring some new faces to strengthen our side as we do not want to repeat the past mistake. We have seen good players with potential in the League, we need to bring them and expose them."
The Chipiku Stores Central Region football League is the second trophy for the Area 30 based side in the 2024 season after they won the FDH Bank Cup last year.
KHUMBENI SIGNS FOR GILLINGHAM FC
Malawian England based attacker, Nelson Khumbeni, has secured a move to Gillingham United from Bolton Wanderers in an undisclosed fee.
Gillingham made the announcement on Friday afternoon after completing the deal and has signed a two and half year deal with the team.
Speaking after penning the deal to complete the move, the Malawian born star said he was happy to join the team.
"It is a big team and i would like to help the team push ahead so that we secure promotion so i am very happy to join this big club." He said.
Meanwhile, the team plays in the Sky Bet League in England which is the third tier League and they sit 16th in the 24 team log table having picked 30 points from 24 games and managed to score 25 goals and concede 28.
They stay 28 points adrift leaders, Walsall which has 58 points but its only 14 points behind the third place which is a qualifying position into the League One.
Khumbeni left Malawi at a tender age where he joined Norwich City Academy in the Under 8 team and signed his first professional contract in 2021 before sealing a move to Borton Wanderers a year later.
He has spent his life much in loan team as Wanderers sent him to AFC Fylde before playing for Morecambe and then Accrington Town where he has played 24 goals and scored one. His last appearance for the team was against Liverpool in a 4-0 defeat in the FA Cup.
On his profile, he holds a dual citizenship as England is his first nationality while Malawi is second but is yet to make his breakthrough on the international scene.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has secured a kit sponsorship deal with the up and coming Betting company, 888 bets ahead of the 2025 season.
The team's Chief Executive Officer, Panganeni Ndovi, expressed his happiness over the deal which will see the Nomads earning K100 million from the company.

CRECK CONFIRMS KAMWENDO AS HEAD COACH
Creck Sporting Club has officially announced the appointment of Joseph Kamwendo as a new head coach replacing Macdonald Mtetemera who left the team on a mutual agreement.
The team has also said that Kamwendo will be assisted by Gift Mkandawire and Harrison Saidi as vice and second vice coaches respectively.

Mponda: Nkungula is one of the best goalkeepers
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Peter Mponda, says he is very happy to see Clever Nkungula extending his stay at the team as he is one of the best goalkeepers in modern Football.
Mponda said this after the player signed a two years extension deal on Friday afternoon as he is expected to enjoy game time in 2025 after struggling last year due to injuries.
He said Nkungula is a young player but plays beyond his age and he is one of the goalkeepers needed in the modern football due to his footwork.
"He struggled last year not that he is not good but injuries so i hope this year, he will be with us and contribute to the greatness of the team." Added Mponda.
Nkungula becomes the third player to extend his stay at the team after Blessings Mpokera and Yankho Singo as the team awaits for other players to sign extensions.
NKUNGULA HAPPY TO STAY AT BULLETS
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets goalkeeper, Clever Nkungula, says he is expecting a very good season with the People's team and he is very happy to stay for other two years at the team.
He said this after penning an extension at the team on Friday afternoon and said he wants to help the team in 2025 after having a tough time last year due to injuries.
He said, "Injuries are one of the things a player should be expecting so last year i was working on my hearing now i am back, i need to contribute to the team's success."
Meanwhile, he further said the team got hard lessons in 2024 and they need to work hard in 2025 to retain their glory.
Nkungula came from the ranks of the team's Reserve side but his playing time has been minimal due to injuries as last season, he played three games only.

ZIMBABWE'S PLATINUM SIGNS MALAWIAN PHIRI
Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder, Precious Phiri, has signed a two years contract with Zimbabwe's top side, FC Platinum, days after leaving the People's team.
Phiri's manager, Isaac Kamanga, has confirmed about the news and the player himself wrote the news on his Facebook page to confirm about his new home.
"New Home, PURE PLATINUM PLAY......FC PLATINUM ⚽" He wrote.
Meanwhile, Phiri wrote a farewell letter to Bullets earlier this week to end his 7 year stay at the team as he joined from Mighty Tigers in 2018.
He has managed to win five TNM Super League trophies during his time at the team and many other trophies including FDH Bank Cup, Castel Challenge Cup and Airtel Top 8.
