Airtel Top 8 starts; BB wins as rivals, Nomads lose to Kaning'ina soldiers
Airtel Top 8 commenced on Saturday with Nyasa Big Bullets hosting MAFCO at Kamuzu Stadium in the opening match.
The People's team were victors in the inaugural match, thrashing the Salima based side, 3-1.
Hassan Kajoke scored the opener before Babatunde Adepoju bagged his first brace at Bullets. It was Martin Masoatheka who scored MAFCO's consolation goal.
On Sunday, the tournament continued with Moyale Barracks locking horns with Mighty Wanderers away at Kamuzu Stadium.
Moyale won the match, 0-1 courtesy of Lloyd Njaliwa's goal scored at 53 minutes.
Coaches for both sides where delighted with the tournament's kick-off. In separate interviews the coaches expressed their interest in winning the Cup.
The winner of the competition will pocket MWK17 million.
