KB SELECT 19 OUT OF 80

Kamuzu Barracks Football Club has announced that it will unveil 19 players that have been selected from the trials that were successful in the trials they conducted from 5 to 9 February 2024.

The team confirmed the news on Friday via their Facebook page that 61 players from 80 that attended the trials failed to impress the Alick Chirwa led panel.

Meanwhile, Chirwa said the process was good and have settled for the best players.

"The trials were successful, we have spotted the talents we were missing, there is competition in all departments now," commented Chirwa.

He further said that they will start training with the rest of the team on Monday in order to blend old and new players together.

Last season, the Soldiers finished fifth with 46 points from 30 games.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has declined rumours linking them with the return of Peter Banda to the team saying they have not spoke to the player since leaving last month.

The team's Chief Administration Officer, Albert Chigoga, said Banda is not returning to Bullets and said the rumors that he will sign a deal with the Peoples team after failing to clink a deal in Tanzania are false.

"He was with us and when he asked to leave and not extending the contract, we accepted. Since leaving Bullets, we have not talked to him." Said Chigoga.

The People's team since Banda for a period of four months after terminating his contract with Simba SC and he left Bullets last month to finalize his deal to Shingida Golden Gates but the deal did not materialize.

Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women forward, Mary Chavinda, has received her first accolade since moving to Rayon Sports after named the player of the month of January for the team on Wednesday.

Chavinda has been shining since joining the team that leads the countries' top league as she has netted 12 goals for the team so far.

Last week, she went close to win her first medal at the team but hopes were dented by AS Kigali which beat them 1-0 in the final.
