DUWE'S DOUBLE FIRES SILVER PAST KB
Silver Strikers are on top of the FDH Premiership on the first day after securing a comfortable 2-0 win over Kamuzu Barracks at the Champions Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Festus Duwe got a first half brace to take an early lead in the golden boot race while the Bankers being the only team to secure the win on the opening day of the League.
Head coach Peter Mgangira, while hailing his boys for the win, said his team missed a lot of chances that could have given them a hefty win.
"It was a good game and I'm happy that we have started with a win only that we missed a lot of chances but a win is a better result for us," he said.
He also saluted his players for treating the commotion before the start of the game professionally as the Bankers forgot their cards into the game.
The Bankers have three points from one on top of the League placing themselves two points ahead of second placed Civil Service United.
