FOMO releases six players, Zakazaka takes charge

Newly relegated FOMO FC, has announced that they have released their six players as the team gets geared for a new life in the 2025 NBS National Division League.

The team's General Secretary, Jimmy Maloya, confirmed about the news on Thursday saying three goalkeepers, Noel Phiri, Duncan Kumimba and Henry Mwayira, striker Arthur Kalondola, plus twins, Duncan and Oscar Mangwaya, will no longer be part of the team.

The team also says that all players that were on loan at the team will see their contracts not renewed and has so far wished them well.

Meanwhile, the team has appointed Jimmy Zakazaka to lead them in a bid to return into the Super League as he replaces Elvis Kafoteka.

Ekhaya United acquire Giants

South Region Premier Division Champions, Ekhaya, has reached an agreement with Ndirande Giants Womens team to be their Womens team side in accordance to the club licensing guidelines.

The team has made a move to allow themselves play in the TNM Super League in the 2025 season as per Twaha Chimuka's reports.

"In a move aimed at bolstering their presence in the women's game, Ekhaya United has reached an agreement to acquire Ndirande Giants FC as their official women's team." Wrote Chimuka.

Ndirande Giants plays in the Goshen City Southern Region Womens Football League and finished 6th in the just ended 2024 season to miss the national tournament.

Chitipa, Nyambose part ways

Chitipa United has announced that they will not renew their contract with their head coach, Christopher Nyambose, despite guiding them to a relegation survival on the final day last season.

The team has made an announcement through a press release signed by General Secretary, Watson Kabaghe, on Friday morning.

The club has however thanked Nyambose for his services to the team and that they will be working hard to find his replacement soon.

Chitipa survived a risk of survival on the last day of the League last season thanks to a 0-2 win over Baka City with FOMO and Bangwe All Stars dropping points.
