Silver fully into title race as title defence looks possible

Silver Strikers has cut their gap onto the top two to just three points with 13 games left in the TNM Super League making the title defence possible after beating Chitipa United 1-0 at the Silver Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bankers scored through Chinsisi Maonga on the 29th minute to seal the win and stay within touching distance on to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers.

Head coach for the Bankers, Peter Mgangira, said his team did not play the way they use to but it is good that they have won and will keep pushing for more.

"The league is now tight indeed but we will make sure to collect more points when playing at home, it will be tough but it is possible to defend the League." Said Mgangira.

The victory took the Bankers up to 36 points from 10 wins, 6 draws and one loss to stay just four points behind leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and three behind Mighty Wanderers.
