MWALILINO FIRES 10-MAN KARONGA PAST CRECK
Blessings Mwalilino netted his 11th goal of the season in his maiden league for Karonga United to inspire the team to a 0-1 win over Creck Sporting Club at the Aubrey Dimba Stadium despite having a man down on Sunday afternoon.
The visitors saw their captain, Nanson Mbewe receiving a second yellow card on 71st minute but Mwalilino capitalised on a lapse on the team's defense to net the winner 8 minutes later and take the team on fifth position.
Assistant coach for Karonga United, Crespo Chimkwita, said his boys were already prepared psychologically as when a team is playing away, many things happen.
"First let me recommend the boys for the fantastic win, we came here and managed to get three points, we prepared them psychologically as when you are playing away, they may award the home team a fake penalty or give you a fake red card and you saw we were given a card but we told them to concentrate and I am happy for the win." Said Chimkwita.
The win for Karonga takes them fifth on the log table with 36 points from 24 games and their next assignment is against Mighty Tigers at the Kamuzu Stadium.
