MAFCO sends apology to Bullets and Lungu
MAFCO FC captain, Paul Ndhlovu, has apologised to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and their midfielder, Wongani Lungu, following an incident that led to the injury of the star towards the end of the match.
On the 92nd minute of the game, Lungu went down into MAFCO's box before the players from both teams tussling and Yohane Malunga was seen deliberately stepping on Lungu's left leg before Blessings Chandiyang'ana stepping on his right causing the injury.
The former Mzuzu City Hammers vice captain was in tears when he received his player of the match award after the game due to pain and the Palestinians were also angered as they nearly stormed into the pitch but the stewards managed to control them.
Following this incident, Bullets fans stormed MAFCO's Facebook page with their abusive words to show their anger but their Captain Paul Ndhlovu has humbly apologize for the incident.
"We are Sorry to the Bullets Family and Wongani Lungu as well on what
happened during our match, as a captain i really feel it was bad. Being a leader in a field of play i was suppose to control the tempers for my players as well, but it happens in football, We are one. Wish him a quick recovery." Said Ndhlovu.
Calls have been made by different people in the country to Super League of Malawi to take an action on the two players as they did that deliberately. FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Kalisto Pasuwa was also angered as no red card was flashed by the referee.
The People's team won the game 1-0 thanks to a Maxwell Gasten Phodo's 15 minutes strike after assisted by Babatunde Adepoju to seal the win.
