CHAWINGA SHINES AS PSG QUALIFY FOR UCL
Scorchers captain, Tabitha Chawinga, produced a remarkable performance for her side, PSG, to help them qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stages for 2023/24 Season after knocking out Manchester United 4-2 on aggregate on Wednesday.
Chawinga scored a lone goal for her side in England as the two sides played a 1-1 draw and on Wednesday night, she made a brilliant solo run from the midfield but the goalkeeper denied her with a save and Martens guided the ball into the net on rebound on 17th minute.
United levelled on 47th minute through Naalson but the goal was short-lived as Chawinga made a brilliant run down the left to set Martens to restore the lead a minute later before Bartimore adding third from a very tight angle on 57th minute.
The Malawian lasted for 85 minutes as Katoto replaced her with United piling more pressure but a late disallowed goal and hitting the post could not save them from leaving the tournament early.
