EARLY BIRDS -- SILVER PUT FOUR PAST MOYALE
Silver Strikers maintained their perfect start into the 2026-27 season after thumping Moyale Barracks 4-1 to secure their second win in the Malawi Premiership on Saturday at the Silver Stadium.
The Bankers went ahead through Andrew Joseph in the first half who also doubled the lead 6 minutes in the second half but Charles Nkhoma's free kick put the game alive four minutes later.
Festus Duwe got his third goal of the season in the 65th minute before Chinsisi Maonga sealing the win with a stunner in the 74th minute.
Head coach for the team Peter Mgangira hailed his boys for a perfect performance into the game.
"I'm happy that we were able to create a lot of chances which helped us to get more goals so it is good to be winning games at this start so that we should gain momentum and confidence," he said.
The Bankers are the only side to win both matches this season as they also beat Kamuzu Barracks 2-0 in their opening match.
