Mponda impressed with Flames performance
Flames Assistant coach, Peter Mponda, has described the team's performance against Namibia on Sunday afternoon as very encouraging as the team improved greatly from a poor showing in their Group B opener against Lesotho.
Mponda said this after the team played a goalless draw against the Brave Warriors to have chances of progressing to the semi finals of the COSAFA Cup very slim as the team needs to beat Angola in the final match to have as chance to progress.
"The score could be 0-0 but today we played better than our last game. We greatly improved and we created chances, shoot on goal only that we did not get a goal. However this is an encouraging performance from the boys." Said Mponda.
A win against Angola on Tuesday will take Malawi up to four points and having a head to head advantage over Angola but the other game between Lesotho, which has three points and a head-to-head advantage over Malawi and Namibia which has two points could
