Civil thump Hammers to reach Airtel Semis on home return
Civil Service United were in top form on their return to the Civo Stadium after beating Mzuzu City Hammers 4-0 to progress through to the semi finals of the Airtel Top 8 on Saturday afternoon.
Blessings Malinda made a splendid first half performance as he assisted Dustan Banda and Muhammad Biason before scoring his own and substitute Damiano Kunje finished off the game in the added time to seal the win.
Head coach, Abbas Makawa, was much delighted with the win.
"We told the boys that we need to utilise our chances because any goal that Hammers will score will cause problems on us so they followed the instructions and we scored four." He said.
He also said that he is happy that everyone is scoring as three midfielders and a striker were the scorers in the match.
The Civil Servants are the third team to progress into the last four after FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Karonga United and will face the winner between Silver Strikers
