LONG AT LAST! MABEDI FIRED!

Football Association of Malawi has resorted in the firing of Flames coach, Patrick Mabedi following poor strings of results from the team in their recent match.

The Association had made the announcement on Tuesday evening after an emergency meeting on Monday which agreed in parting ways with the former captain for failure to fulfil his targets.

"This is in line with resolutions of the FAM Emergency Committee held on 28th October 2024. The decision is based on the recommendations from the Technical Committee following the dismal performance of the Flames and subsequent failure to qualify for the Total Energies AFCON 2025." Wrote the statement.

Meanwhile the Association has thanked Mabedi for his contribution to the team and has further asked the stakeholders to continue supporting the team until they identify a replacement.

In the recent matches, Malawi has failed to record any win in the African Cup of Nations in four matches.
