TEMWA SETS A RECORD IN USA

Temwa Chawinga has become the first ever female player in the USA's National Women's Soccer League to score most goals in a season after surpassing a record that stood from 2019.

Chawinga scored a lone goal as Kansas City Current beat Bay FC 0-1 to secure maximum points but also set a heavy record as her 19th goal of the season is the most scored by one player in a season.

She joined the team prior to the start of the season and has become a prolific scorer for the team after now scoring in 14 goals in her last 14 games for the team.

The record had been held by Sam Kerr who netted 18 goals in 2019 but Chawinga matched it last week before breaking it this weekend.
