Mpinganjira addresses Wadabwa's firing
Mighty Wanderers President and Board chair, Dr Thomson Mpinganjira said that the team opted against extending Peter Wadabwa's contract because strikers were not scoring many goals in their games.
The clarification was made during the club's Presidential Ball gala award ceremony held at Golden Peacock in Blantyre on Sunday.
The Nomads have replaced Peter Wadabwa for their former assistant coach, Albert Mpinganjira, and Mpinganjira confirmed the news while clarifying the move.
"We have made a change to bring Albert [Mpinganjira] because the team struggled to find goals this season. We could only win 1-0 or maybe a 1-1 draw but we want fluidity on our strikers so that they should be bagging more goals," said Mpinganjira.
Meanwhile, Mpinganjira has taken a bold move to make improvements in the team's technical panel after buying a new vehicle for head coach, Bob Mpinganjira while planning to send him to Europe for studies and his assistant,
MacDonald Mtetemera will go to South Africa for studies as well.
Statistics has it that the Nomads has relied more on their midfield to find goals in the past two seasons despite having the best strikers on land.
