Duwe, Chihana, and Mchema Nominated for Young Player of the Year Award

The Football Association of Malawi has nominated Festus Duwe, Allen Chihana, and Francis Mchema for the 2025 Young Player of the Year award.

The names were released on Wednesday afternoon as FAM prepares for the FAM Annual Awards function at the COMESA Hall in Blantyre on 6 March 2026.

Duwe starred in his first year with Silver Strikers, claiming a golden boot award in the Airtel Top 8 with three goals in three games and netting 7 goals and five assists in 17 league games, winning three man-of-the-match awards.

Chihana played 24 league games for Karonga, scoring 7 goals and registering five assists, winning two man-of-the-match awards. He played four cup games, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Mchema, playing for Kamuzu Barracks, played 30 league games, bagging 8 goals and four assists, winning two man-of-the-match awards. He scored five goals in five cup games for KB.

The winner of the award will be
