FAM Plans to Introduce Reserve League
The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced plans to introduce a league for reserve teams, aiming to provide them with a more structured competition format.
Speaking at the Chipiku Stores Central Region Football League awards at Area 30 Police Headquarters in Lilongwe on Friday, FAM President Fleetwood Haiya stated that the new league will offer better opportunities for reserve teams, which are currently limited in their participation in national leagues and national team selection.
Blue Eagles Reserve won the CRFL title, but it is Extreme FC that will earn promotion to the National Division League after finishing second.
In the Southern Region, the top four positions were dominated by Ekhaya Reserve, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve, and Mighty Wanderers Reserve, which finished second, third, and fourth, respectively.
