Karonga United fail to secure top 8 place ahead of dramatic final day
Karonga United missed a chance to secure their place in the top 8 of the TNM Super League and have given themselves pressure to win on the last day after suffering a 1-2 defeat against Civil Service United at the Karonga Stadium on Wednesday.
The team went ahead in the first half thanks to Alfred Chizinga's goal but were stunned by Righteous Banda's brace to suffer a defeat in one of their must win games.
Head coach Oscar Kaunda said the game was balanced but they missed their chances in the game and that their final game against Chitipa United is a must win.
''Its a must win for us because if we lose then we will go down maybe out of the top 8 so we will prepare well for that much so that we get a win from that match,'' said Kaunda.
He also said he planned for a top four finish but it is no longer possible because they cannot reach where Blue Eagles is.
Karonga United are 6th on the table with 39 points from 1
