Chawinga misses CAF Women player of the year finalists list

Scorchers vice captain, Temwa Chawinga, has her name missing in the final three nominees of this year's CAF Women player of the year award despite earning global recognition.

This comes following a list released by Confederation of African Football on Sunday which does not have Chawinga's name despite being one of the favourites to land the award.

Ghizlane Chebbak of Al Hilal and Sanaa Mssdude of AS FAR both from Morocco and Rasheedat Ajibade of PSG and from Nigeria are those lining up to land the award.

Meanwhile, Chawinga finished 17th in the Balon d'Or list, the only African to be nominated for FIFA Best Womens player of the year and a place in the FIFA best XI of the year.
