Pasuwa hands Malango his first call-up

USA based forward, Mayele Malango, has received his first call up for the Flames as Kalisto Pasuwa has included him in the team's squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

His team Monterey Bay confirmed about the news on Monday through their Facebook page where Malango expresses his happiness over the call up.

"Representing Malawi is an incredible honor and a dream come true for me. This is something I have always wanted and to see it finally happening, it's a big honor for me. I’m just super excited and beyond grateful to represent this great nation." Said Malango.

The 26 year old is from DRC but grew up in Malawi before going to USA for further studies and now plays in the USL Championship.

Meanwhile, Kalisto Pasuwa is expected to release the full squad for the qualifiers tomorrow at the Mpira Village in Chiwembe, however, Charles Petro is another player selected for the games.
