By Hastings Wadza Kasonga Jr
Peter Kasonga netted a second half brace to guide MAFCO up to 8th on the log table after beating Mighty Tigers 2-0 at the Chitowe Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
After missing a number of chances in the first half, Kasonga finished off a ball from Stain Malata on 75th minute before capitalising on Lucky Tizola's blunder to complete his brace on 83rd minute to grant the soldiers maximum points.
Head coach for the team, Jimmy Mzunga, said he was happy with the win.
He said, "I am much delighted with the win, the boys have played very well and played according to what we played in this match so I'm very happy."
Kasonga was also on target on Sunday when MAFCO suffered a 3-1 defeat over Karonga United meaning he has three goals in two games.
The team is now 8th on the table with 30 points from 22 games played this season.
