KAONGA NETS HAT-TRICK, NJALIWA ON TARGET FOR CAPS IN ZIMBABWE

Flames forward Chawanangwa Kaonga netted a hat-trick and assisted Lloyd Njaliwa as CAPS United thumped Scottland Academy 6-0 in the Munhumutapa Cup in Zimbabwe on Sunday.

Kaonga opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 30th minute after being fouled in the box. He then set up Njaliwa in the 55th minute before grabbing his second three minutes later, and completed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute.

Both Kaonga and Njaliwa were handed starts alongside their fellow Malawians Uchizi Vunga and Precious Phiri.

The win means CAPS United have progressed to the round of 16 of the tournament.
