SULOM finds errors in Wanderers-Ekhaya match abandonment

Super League of Malawi has opened investigation to find out details and the person who declared the abandonment of the TNM Super League match involving Mighty Wanderers and Ekhaya after noting that it did not follow the procedure.

On Wednesday afternoon, the match was stopped at 52 minutes due to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms at the Kamuzu Stadium and despite the weather calming down, the match failed to resume.

Meanwhile, SULOM's General Secretary, Williams Banda in his statement on Thursday, noted foul play in the procedure leading to the opening of the investigations on the matter.

"The teams are supposed to wait for 40 minutes and if the situation continues, the match officials consults the Super League of Malawi for the decision to be made. However, this was not followed in the game and we have opened investigations to find the one who made that decision and some other facts," said Banda
