"That could have been a red card" - Pasuwa
Flames head coach, Kalisto Pasuwa, said Dion Hotto could have been sent off for his foul on William Thole as it was too serious and led to a substitution for the goalkeeper.
Pasuwa said this after the Flames 1-2 win over Namibia on Friday afternoon in Botswana to record their third win of the team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Thole was replaced on 36th minute following a kick on his chest by the Orlando Pirates man and Pasuwa believed Hotto could have been sent off.
"It was a serious one and I thought the player could have been red carded and again in added time there was another foul which also deserved a red card, on the injured guy, it is a big set back and we have to hear what the doctors will say." Said Pasuwa.
The win took Malawi up to 9 points from three wins and four defeats on position five of the 6-team table and remain with three games to wind up the campaign.
