Eagles, Songwe seek redemption in newly promoted teams battle.
Newly promoted teams, Blue Eagles and Songwe Border United are set to rock horns in the second week of the 2025 season as both teams look to earn their first wins following their defeats in the first week.
Blue Eagles will be at home welcoming Songwe Border United after a 3-1 defeat in hands of Mighty Wanderers at the Kamuzu Stadium last weekend while Songwe Border lost 0-1 to Moyale Barracks at home.
Ahead of the match, head coach for the Area 30 based team, Eliya Kananji said he expects a tough encounter as he has never seen Songwe playing.
"Its a tough match for us as we don't know how they play but I believe that what has been told to players if used will get past them [Songwe]." He said.
On the part of the travelling team, coach Enock Mhone, said his team is ready to face Eagles in their first trip in the Elite League.
"It is not going to be easy as you know we are facing a good team that is coming from a loss a
and will be looking to win at home but looking at how we kicked off the league last week and the way they have responded during our trainings I believe we will do better." Said Mhone.
