"IN CUPS YOU NEED A RESULT NOT BEAUTIFUL FOOTBALL" - PASUWA

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach, Kalisto Pasuwa, says a cup game needs a team to get a positive result not to play beautiful football that's why they are the Champions of the Airtel Top 8 because they have won not played well.

He said this after beating Silver Strikers in the final of the Airtel Top 8 at the Bingu National Stadium and said his boys were busy closing up the Bankers in the first half and had to open up in the second half.

"A very tactical game where maybe most of the times in the first half we were trying to close spaces the opposition at times dominating play but going in the side. But maybe coming up second half we tried to push up numbers in attack and we had one of the crosses and we got a goal, then we missed another one which was a clear seater from one of our Strikers but that's how Football is these are cup games where you don't need beautiful football but you need a result at the end of the day and

we got it." Said Pasuwa.

He further said that referees are architectures of many injuries to his players as they do nothing when their player is fouled and in the case of Crispin Mapemba, his ankle was swollen after facing a heavy tackle.

The People's team have now won the Airtel Top 8 for the third time having won it in 2021, 2023 and now in 2024 and it becomes their first trophy this year.
