KAMUZU BARRACKS MATCH INTO CASTEL R16
Elite League side, Kamuzu Barracks, has become the fourth team to book a place in the round of 16 of the Castel Challenge Cup 2024 edition after beating Ntchisi Tigers 4-0 at the Nankhaka Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Gregory Nachipo put the Soldiers ahead on 13th minute before Redson Nkhoma doubling the scores from a free kick four minutes later as the hosts led 2-0 at half time. Substitute Sheriff Maulana won a penalty which Nkhoma converted for his second of the day on 64th minute before Maulana himself finding the back of the net with a powerful shot on 85th minute.
After the game, head coach for the Soldiers, Charles Kamanga thanked his boys for the win but said his team could have scored more than four in the match.
"It was a tough game but we have managed to win, I think we were underrating our friends because we could have easily scored more than four goals but I thank the boys for the win." Said Kamanga.
