HAMMERS SUFFER FIRST HOME LOSS
Mzuzu City Hammers have suffered their first home League match defeat at the Mzuzu Stadium as they went down 0-1 to Karonga United in a match played on Saturday afternoon in the TNM Super League.
Raphael Nkhoma's first half strike was enough to diffuse a naughty Hammers when playing at home as the visitors managed to defend their lead till the final whistle.
Head coach for the team, Kondwa Ikwanga, said his team could have done better to defend the goal they conceded but added that his defense has been betraying the team much this season.
"It was a fair game, we just gave themselves a room to play but otherwise we could have won the game in the first half but we underrated Karonga United so we conceded the goal which we could have defended then in the second half, too much pressures, long and high balls so we could have won the game." Said Ikwanga.
He further said that fans need to get worried with the team's losses which are as a result of a poor de
defense and has run out of ideas on how to train them.
The team remain third on the standings with 31 points from 20 games they have played so far in this season.
