Its now 2 year's and 10 days since Walter Nyamilandu was elected as Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President.

Before assuming the presidency post, Nyamilandu pledged a number of things aimed at raising the bar.

As one way of improving the country's football standards, Nyamilandu promised to improve player's welfare, transform the Football Association, engage partners to offer technical expertise;

Create a vibrant youth football system, professionalise the country's elite league and Super League of Malawi (Sulom) and leading the Flames to win the COSAFA Cup in 2020.
