Silver start off-season after Hammers defeat
Silver Strikers have began their off-season after being knocked out of the Castel Challenge Cup following a 2-1 defeat over Mzuzu City Hammers at the Rumphi Stadium on Saturday.
The Bankers got off to a good start as they took a lead through Innocent Shema's goal but Aubrey Simbi and Isaiah Nyirenda overturned the tables with a goal each to crash out of the tournament.
Head coach for the team, Peter Mgangira described the result as disappointing.
"It was a good game as we started on a high and we got chances that could have finished the game in the first half but we made mistakes and conceded the goals. It was not just our day," said Mgangira.
He also said they had a tough beginning of the season but picked up and will sit down to beef up the squad ahead of the new season.
The Bankers finished third in the elite League and got one Cup this season.
