Temwa retains top place in golden boot race
Scorchers vice captain, Temwa Chawinga, returned on the scoresheet for Kansas City Current as she scored her 11th goal of the season to inspire the team to a 2-0 win over Portland Thorns in the National Women's Soccer league on Saturday night in USA.
Temwa scored the second of the team on 71st minute to returned to the scoresheet as she failed to score in the team's 0-0 draw against Orlando Pride last week.
The goal placed her on top of Esther Gonzalez Rodriguez of Gotham in the golden boot race as they both have 11 goals, however Temwa boosts with two goals to none which is a breaker for the award.
Meanwhile, KC Current have gone now 10 games without a defeat, thus 9 wins and one draw, as they leads with 43 points to open a 12-point gap ahead of second placed Washington Spirit Women.
