NBS Bank, FAM parade Charity Shield trophy in Lilongwe

As fans await the much anticipated Charity Shield match to announce the kick off of the 2025-26 season, the NBS Bank alongside Football Association of Malawi stommed the Capital City as they paraded the Charity Shield trophy.

The journey which began in Area 18 in the District to the Bingu National Stadium, not only gave a chance for fans to see the trophy but also see players for Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers who face off on Saturday.

Speaking after the event, NBS Bank's head of Marketing, Stella Hara, said this year, the bank wants to show caring they are to Malawians.

"As a caring bank, we really want to display this to our customers and this year, we are under a theme of caring alittle more so we wanted to show this by increasing the sponsorship from K40 million to K60 million." She said.

Meanwhile, FAM's Marketing and Broadcasting manager, Tulipo Mwenelupembe, thanked the Bank for their huge assistance and edged

people to support them more in return to their favour.

" We ask people to come in numbers and grace this match, let's show our support to the tournament and also to the sponsors, NBS." He said.

The tournament is played at the very start of a season and teams that won the TNM Super League and a national Cup are those that participate in it.

This year, Silver Strikers will play Mighty Wanderers at the Bingu National Stadium on Saturday and the past 7 editions has been won by FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. The money found is used for charity.
