"WE WANT TO DEFEND THE COSAFA CUP" - FAZILI

Scorchers coach, Lovemore Fazili says he has set a target of defending the COSAFA Women's Championship this year to prove that it was not a fluke when they won it last year in South Africa.

He said this when reacting to a draw conducted by COSAFA on Tuesday after which saw the team placed in Group B alongside Botswana, Madagascar and Mauritius.

Despite the group looking a bit easy, Fazili says it is going to be tough and needs hardwork in order to perform better in the tournament.

"It's going to be tough as we need to be more ready and also work hard but I'm sure we will still do well this year. My target is to defending it so that we show people that it was not a fluke." Said Fazili.

He said the team he has this year will be used to build a strong team for continental tournaments next year which will be featured in professional players and has said two players playing outside the country will debut in the team. Here is the draw:
