TEMWA AND RONALDO SCOOP SIMILAR AWARDS
Scorchers forward, Temwa Chawinga, has landed a world award after winning the International Federation of Football History and Statistics Women's Top goal scorer award following her 61 goals she netted in 2023.
Chawinga was in fine form after winning four golden boots awards for country and her club, Wuhan Jiangda, which placed her 20 goals above her closest competitor, Mexican forward, Veronica Corral who netted 39 goals.
Another mexican, Kiana Palacios got 38 goals, Sam Kerr got 37 goals while Zambia's forward, Rachael Kundananji netted 35 goals.
In male category, Cristiano Ronaldo won the similar award after netting 54 goals, two ahead of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe whereas Erling Haaland scored 50 goals on fourth.
Temwa's sister, Tabitha has also been named the IFFHS Top 50 Women's Footballers in 2023 after an impressive outing with Inter Milan and PSG.
