Maonga breaks Nomads hearts to rescue Bankers point

There were tears in Mighty Wanderers players and supporters plus a huge disbelief as Chinsisi Maonga scored a 93rd minute equaliser to deny the Nomads a win and leave the Bankers dancing in a 1-1 draw played at the Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Nomads were ahead on the 91st minute when substitute Blessings Mwalilino capitalised on George Chikooka's error but Maonga's brilliant free kick levelled the scored for the two sides to settle for a point.

Head coach for the Bankers, Peter Mgangira, said it is over until it is over with the Bankers.

"It was a good game, Wanderers played well mostly in the first half but in the second half it was 50-50, however looking at how the game was, a draw is a very fair result." He said.

The Bankers are 10th on the standings with 8 points from five games having won twice, drawn twice and lost one match.
