FROM K25M TO K70M - CHIWEMI INVESTMENTS PARTNERS WITH NRFA
The Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) has received a major boost ahead of the 2026-27 season after securing a K70 million sponsorship package from Chiwemi Investments. The deal increases league funding from K25 million last season.
The announcement was made during a signing ceremony held by the Association and the company at Grand Palace Hotel in Mzuzu on Thursday.
NRFA believes the partnership will strengthen league operations and improve the experience for clubs, players, and supporters.
NRFA Chairperson Masiya Nyasulu described the sponsorship as a major boost to football in the region.
“This sponsorship is a huge step forward for football in the Northern Region. It will go a long way in improving the administration of the league, increasing competitiveness among teams, and creating a better platform for player development,” he said.
The sponsorship will cover League One and will run under the title
Chiwemi Investments Northern Region League One.
Last season, the Association failed to secure sponsorship until Football Association of Malawi President Fleetwood Haiya provided K25 million for the competition.
