SCORCHERS OUT OF COSAFA CUP

Malawi Womens Football team are out of the COSAFA Women's Championship after Zimbabwe and Zambia picked wins in their Group B matches to secure semi final places.

Scorchers needed a miracle in order to sail through as the best runners up but Zambia sealed a comeback 2-1 win against Eswatini to finish as group winners with 7 points while Zimbabwe beat Botswana 1-0 to finish second with 7 points as well.

Malawi face Angola later this afternoon and the result would mean nothing as they will be at 6 points if they will win in the game.

This is for the second year running the team has failed to sail past the group stages after winning the tournament in 2023.
