Thom sends Lioness third in NBM Premiership

Sabina Thom scored a brace in her first NBM National Women's Premiership match as MDF Lioness managed to beat Moyale Sisters 4-0 to rise up to third in the standings at the Champions Stadium on Saturday.

After a barren first half, Fazilah Chiyembekezo scored her second goal of the season in the 65 minutes before Catherine Kachala doubling it two minutes and Thom scored on 73 and 83 minutes to seal the victory.

Head coach for the team, John Kaputa, was happy with the win as it will push them further in the League.

"Let me celebrate this win because we have closer to the teams that are on top of the League. We tried everything to win but first half we struggled and second half we pressed more luckily enough we got the goals," said Kaputa.

On his part, Moyale Sisters head coach John Chimwala said the break which the League had affected their fitness levels of the players.
