Ascent drop points in Mzuzu

Ascent Academy failed to close their gap on leaders, Silver Ladies, after being held to a goalless draw against MK Academy in a match played at the Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday morning in the National Bank of Malawi National Women's Premiership.

Ascent put up a dominant performance in the entire match but still failed to unlock the hosts who managed to claim their second point in the League and stop the giants from walking away with a win.

Head coach for the team, Thom Nkolongo, said the team tried everything in order to win but his players underrated their opponents.

"We played very well today and created a lot of chances but I think it was not our day maybe the players underrated the team because they are bottom of the League so we need to work into this so that we should score goals in our coming games," said Nkolongo.

On his part, MK Academy assistant coach Hastings Msowoya said they planned well for the game so that they get a win in the game.
