Chawinga scores 12th goal in USA

Scorchers forward Temwa Chawinga was on target for Kansas City Current as the team beat FC Bay 0-2 to open a 17-point gap on top of the National Women's Soccer league in USA on Sunday morning.

Chawinga netted a 94th minute to goal to double the lead for the team after Michelle Cooper had put the team ahead with a well taken strike in the added minutes of the first half.

The team has now 49 points from 19 games this season while the second placed team, Washington Spirits have 32 points from 18 matches,

Chawinga now has 12 goals and two assists that put her on top of the Spanish forward, Esther Gonzalez Rodriguez who has just 12 goals and no assist.
