Mbulu shine to inspire Songo past Costa do Sol

Flames forward, Richard Mbulu, scored his first goal of the season to help UD Songo beat his former club, Costa do Sol, 1-0 in the Mocambola League in Mozambique on Wednesday afternoon.

The forward was handed yet asnother start alongside Yamikani Chester who fired a hat trick against Black Bulls in their previous match and the forward scored on the 7th minute to secure the win.

After the game, he was voted as a player of the match whilst helping Songo to open a 6-point gap over second placed, Ferroviario de Lichinga as they have now 26 points from 11 games in the League.

Meanwhile, Lloyd Njaliwa and Chikoti Chirwa were starters for Costa do Sol which had now 19 points on the third position in the League.

Mbulu is part of the Flames squad alongside Njaliwa that will face Namibia on 5th September 2025 in Botswana before playing Liberia in Lilongwe three days later.
